As a pinnacle to the efforts made by Future University in Egypt (FUE) to keep up with the developments of artificial intelligence technology and under the patronage and support of Dr. Khaled Azazy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, Dr. Sameh Talaat, Lecturer in the Orthodontic Department at FUE was appointed as Associate Researcher at the Oral Technology Department, University of Bonn in Germany. As part of the cooperation agreement between both universities, Dr. Sameh supervises students from both universities during their higher research studies.
In this framework, Prof. Ebada Sarhan, President of Future University in Egypt, said that this is a new international scientific achievement which is considered an addition to the University’s previous international achievements. He indicated that Dr. Sameh Talaat had received his PhD in 2019 and has participated in launching digital virtual reality research in the Oral Technology Department at the University of Bonn, Germany.
Prof. Ebada Sarhan explained that Sameh Talaat is continuously integrating the latest technologies in computer science with dentistry and is currently studying new concepts of artificial intelligence such as "deep learning" and applying them to dentistry and has obtained a published patent focusing on this topic in 2020. Future University in Egypt is interested in modern technology and has produced many scientific innovations and has gained many achievements in that aspect.
It is noteworthy to mention that Sameh Talaat is a Lecturer at Orthodontic Department at FUE, and has received his Masters degree in Orthodontics in 2012 from Cairo University, and a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in Orthodontics in 2017. Also, he received Dr. Hassan Azazy's scholarship and was supported for doctoral studies in the Department of Oral Technology at the University of Bonn, Germany. Recently, he was appointed as one of the founders of the German Association of Artificial Intelligence in Dental Medicine, and his work was published in well-established scientific journals. In addition, he is as an active reviewer with others and an active member with a reputation in the European Orthodontic Society.
